Scar Therapy
C-section
If you notice a change in sensation, tissue puffiness, swelling,
or tension over your c-section scar, then scar massage will be beneficial.
Massage reduces inflammation by improving circulation and easing tissue stiffness.
During our session, I can offer scar massage and links to support you with continued massage at home. Scar massage can also to help improve connection to the deeper abdominal muscles, so that engagement of higher level exercise feels more achievable.
Perineal
Following an episiotomy or perineal tear, it is common to experience increased sensitivity over the site of the scar and tension into the connective tissue and pelvic floor.
This can be resolved with scar massage, internal stretches and breathing techniques.
If required, perineal massage will be given at the initial session and any follow-ups.
It will also be taught in the clinic to clients to practice at home for optimal outcomes.
